I would rather have 1000 people in Houston infected with Marburg than 1 person infected with Ebola.
We're talking amateur vs. master class here. Marburg is simply not scary when you're comparing to Ebola.
Fortunately, 99.999% of the population has never heard of Marburg, so they can be swayed by a RADIO TALK SHOW HOST when he threatens them with it.
none of this stuff is new people, none of the experience is new, it's not strange, it's not unknown, it's just new to be in the US during a time when the internet allows everyone to be an expert (ehem talking to you CNN).
Redbeard mentioned it, I will too. Want to be truly scared, but at the end, feel more secure that you know the facts? Read The Hotzone and then read Demon in the Freezer. After you can get to sleep again, come back and see how silly this paranoia is. These virii are MUCH SCARIER than you think, but they are MUCH SAFER than you think.
Imagine being on a narrow bridge across a chasm. Is that REALLY REALLY dangerous? Only if you make a mistake. Don't make a mistake and you're 100% safe.
