I picked up a Werner bent shaft carbon paddle when I was in the boat frequently.
The bent shaft really took some of the strain off my elbows.
Probably didn't hurt that it was considerably lighter than my first paddle.
Also a big blade on the paddle requires a lot of muscle to move it through the water. Don't buy a paddle that Hercules would have trouble utilizing....
