Thanks again to everyone. I have read "Racing in the Rain" and just thought of it the other day. I'm going to go back and read it again but think I will let some time pass before taking that plunge. The evening walks are going well, lots of talking to myself but that's ok. We will be dogless for a while. At 68 we need to travel more than we were and we will most likely go south this winter for an extended period which is less complicated w/o Widge. Not the way I'd like it but it's the way the chips fall.

Friends have been great but it's just so damned quiet in the house and the yard. Other folks here have much greater crosses to bear so we'll take what life throws our way and be happy. We're fortunate we had her as long as we did.
