Yeah that story is a sad one. They worked hard to get her ready to fly but were in a bit of a hurry. The APU fuel tank came lose, caught fire and burned the plane in half.
There are other sad stories of B-29s, like the Lady of the Lake in Alaska.
Here are more than 600 B-29 at Davis Monthan in 1946.
