Like 'onboost' point's out it is' the 'guru's' view not mine, I am just reporting what I see and hear.
I think the facts you are pointing out will start playing into the common wisdom of the guru's.
I actually sought out my 78 930 for the fact it was the first year to have a IC and the 917 "like" brakes, made by Porsche and not Brembo like the later cars, and still had the hand welded on fenders and a 930 prefixed Vn# amongst other neat stuff.
Stuff I personally find cool.
