I have an escort 9500ci in my 997, installed by the PO. Laser detector/jammers are in the center radiator well (2) and above the back license plate. Jammers are illegal in California, so mine are configured to detect only.
LEOs here (in San Diego) are mostly still using Radar. When I get a laser hit it is usually from the collision avoidance/cruise control system fitted to newer cars.
