My recent experience with the Miata.
Bought a medium Kenwood (250)... worked fantastically but being a dork I just presumed all radios came with preset buttons.
Kenwood sounded/looked/worked great but couldn't get over not having any preset buttons for radio stations.
Seeing as I had already overspent on the car stereo budget I bought the low end Alpine. It works/sounds okay... people complain about the outgoing sound quality of the Bluetooth/phone feature (but it works) and the Bluetooth music streaming is flaky (have to reestablish the Bluetooth connection every time you want to use it, kind of a PITA).
All that to say I would not be afraid to get a Kenwood (and mine is for sale )
