My 2011 Macbook Pro has been running fine on the 10.9.5 update.
It does seem with everyone of these upgrades though boot times are getting longer. I remember when I first bought a Mac in 2006 and it only took a few seconds to boot and maybe 3 seconds to shut down. I was impressed by that but now it's like I'm waiting for my work PC to start and shut down.
I'm going to wait awhile before I go to Yosemite.
