regarding purchasing a car from the US.--use the search function-(top right hand side of your screen) --you will find out quite a bit of info. Also, go to the Customs Canada website; there is info and duty /tax rates there. Also, you must go through US customs before taking the car out of the US ( i believe they need x amount of hours or days to make sure the title is clear, not stolen etc.) Remember, patience now will pay dividends later. oh yes, you will also need some luck!!. A 18 month rust project will deplete your enthusiasm and bank account!! If you haven't joined the PCA (porsche club of america) you should. once a member, you will be able to access the pca mart classified ads. and you also get their magazine (Panorama) monthly that has cars for sale. If you can find a car that has been owned by an enthusiast, the odds are it will be a much better car than something off Larry's Used Lot. (the luck thing helps again). My first Porsche, purchased fall 2000, was/is an SC (click on the links in my signature) they are great cars. enough 'rawness' to remind you of an early porsche, galvanized body, reliability, and a few creature comforts to remind you of a 'modern' porsche. there was a red early 911 in Calgary on ebay a few days ago, not sure if it sold or not, or of the quality.
