First, I find it interesting that people keep pointing out the neighborhood and that this wouldn't happen in a nicer place. I would beg to differ. Men just do it differently. I have had men in nice restaurants/bar come up to me and say some really ballsy things. It's just done differently.
Second, I think it's interesting when men say don't dress provocatively. I get it. But at the same time, when a woman has a nice figure, something very demure and conservative can become "sexy". Some women have very curvy bodies. Put the same outfit on an older woman or less curvy woman and it is less assuming. Or honestly, I have worn the same outfit (yoga pants and a t-shirt with my hair in a bun, glasses, no make-up) and I can go about my business without being bothered once. All of a sudden, same outfit, I put a little blush on and lip gloss, have my hair curled and all of sudden you are getting the looks. So what is a woman supposed to do? Walk around like a bag lady? Then get attacked because she doesn't take pride in her appearance? It isn't as easy as some make it out to be.
Granted, most men are respectful. But when they aren't, I think most women aren't inclined to stand their own. I have and all of a sudden I am a b$&@! because I didn't welcome someone's advances.
