Y2K Bunker - Year 2000 date change, computer systems storing year of date as last 2 digits of year would crash when the date change from 1999 to 2000 because the system would not know whether it was 1900 or 2000 causing civilization to go into anarchy. The Bunker was supposed to be a defendable self-sufficiant off-the-grid farm house brother and family could hold up in until order was restored to civilization. They were expecting the upevil to last one year.

Lost my rights in the family business and am now just another employee becuase I took the stance that the Y2K scare was BS and refused to invest thousands to be included in their 1 year food store or buy massive amounts of guns and ammo. Instead I bought a 1990 928 GT. And for a while owned both a 1988 944 Turbo S and the 1990 928 GT. Was told I could take refuge with them, but they would not feed me.

Tried to explain to them that if civilization went into anarchy enough that they needed to retreat to their bunker, it would take more than a year for civilization to recover. AND their farm house with tall wind generators would attract too much attention to be defendable no matter how many guns they had. Tried to get them to read the book Malevil. A post apocalyptical story where the survivors live in and defend a castle in France. If you haven't read it, it's a GREAT book by the way.
