One of my all time favorite riding buddies had one. What a sound.
He was an excellent street rider...no one could keep up with him...including me (a wise move on my part).
I used to tell him to park it and buy a newer Ducati because he loved Ducatis so much.
At one time he entertained purchasing a used 916/996...but he just couldn't part w/the money.
I'd tell him every time that we rode. But he was a cheap-ass...never wanted to part w/money.
I read and heard that he was T-boned one Sunday...truck exiting a blind driveway.
He was flight-lifed to emergency and survived.
He sold it for parts.
Sad story.
