I'm fighting a Palmetto Weevil infestation right now in one of my big Bismarck Palms in my front yard. It sucks....I hate to lose this tree - it's about 25' in height and magnificent. I've drenched the apical meristem twice so far plus applied a systemic insecticide to the soil - plus granular and liquid fed it. And pruned off a couple fronds to lighten up the very top. Here is a photo of what the adult weevil looks like plus the larva who do the actual damage.....nasty little buggers!
