I say this not for anyone to answer or defend themselves but rather as a challenge for each of us to look inward and ask ourselves "can I do something more?"
The holidays are coming up. How many people do we know who are genuinely struggling to get by? Don't want to donate to a charity or to someone who may be less deserving? How about the entry level guy at work? Maybe the gal who brews your latte but has to work two jobs to feed her family? How about that guy down the street who lost his job due to layoffs and his family is struggling? It is so easy to become desensitized to needy people. When I lived in NY, I would step right over homeless people living on the sidewalk without ever having one thought about that poor soul. No, I'm not going to give him money but I could have bought a cup of soup or chili when I picked up my lunch and handed it to him. I didn't then. I want to do better now.
We have so much. Giving a little each day is better than a whole lot never done.

Just another reminder.
