Although, IDA carbs seem a bit costly as well. An add I saw recently for NOS Webers wanted $10 large. Searches for used 'bargain' webers...turn up at $4500-$5500.

When a guy can spend $150 for a quadrajet and get 95% out of his engine, it's a fascinating flat six from the standpoint of hotrodding without enormous cost and expense.



This design, while looking racy, exhibits somewhat the same drawbacks as the early attempts to mount a single 2 or 4-barrel carb in a central plenum and 6 intake tubes.

- Fuel distribution wasn't ideal (could be improved with add'l design and R&D.
- Throttle response would lag as a result of the distance from the main and accelerator pump discharge ports to the intake valve.
- Cold start and cold running issues to resolve

If individual fuel injectors are located closer to the intake valves, then air/fuel mixing in the intake manifold is no longer an issue.
