I assume that the engine mounts were put in the same way left and right, same orientation, same number of washers, etc...
When I bought my car, it too had an issue with the engine not sitting right. I found that the rear mount bar had pulled the bolts out of the back of the magnesium engine block. I removed the mount bar, drilled and installed inserts in the engine block. This was 20 years ago and I haven't had an issue since.
