Once you've got all the cleaning done, go to the auto parts store and buy a flourescent dye tracer kit. They're cheap and after adding the dye to the engine oil, drive the car for a couple of hundred miles and then, using the magic flashlight and glasses from the kit, start looking for dye traces. This dye can also be used in the transaxle, power steering, coolant system and brake reservoir (but should be flushed after use and replaced with proper brake fluid).
