As whiterabbit accurately stated: the options take the biggest depreciation hit.

Having said that, there may be some options you'll willingly take the hit on.

I had anticipated a "liquidity event" back in '00 and ordered a Boxster S with 2 options: Litronic and sport chassis.

I think Litronic headlights are probably standard now, and I'm not sure if there's an equivalent to the sport chassis option.

In any case, avoid the PDK, 85% of cars have them and yours will be up against less competition when you sell...
