I never got to go to a really good school. Every school I went to except the for 6th grade was a OLD school with limited resources. Every year was a different school from first to 11th grade. Only 11th and 12th grade was the same school for me. I see the schools of today with nice new building and central heat and air and computers everywhere and wonder why the average kid get such a crappy education. I suspect it is 90% the fault of the parents. Out of the 11 different schools I went to not one had air conditioning. Most had some pitiful heating system and leaky cold windows. I sat in many different classrooms in 100+ degree heat or being cold due to lousy heat. The schools in Hawaii had no heat at all. There were days when it would be 50 degrees. That does not sound bad but keep in mind everything is 50 degrees and no one has heat. That gets real uncomfortable in short order.
Today the majority of students trying to get into college have to take remedial courses in math and English to be accepted. The standards keep getting lowered and the grades keep falling.
Maybe it is too many hot teachers.
No doubt like always most any kid that wants to learn and has parents helping can get a good education.
