This. As corporate big box stores and imports have basically eliminated manufacturing and small businesses where people could work and build wealth, many of the jobs which have been "created" to improve the employment numbers are low paying jobs which do not create a sense of self-pride or legacy-building. Just an hourly paycheck to pay the iPhone bill, and a box checked in the politicians "job creation" database, regardless of the quality or value of the job. Underemployed pretty much sums it up.
