Don't you watch any cooking shows, you are always supposed to use some red wine to deglaze the pan. I usually use chicken or beef broth.
Today on one cooking show they put most of a bottle in with water to cook the spaghetti. It made it all read.
My grandmother ran out of yellow food coloring to put in her absolutely delicious home made chicken noodles one time and put red in instead. Nobody would eat red chicken and noodles. They tasted exactly the same. When Mom made grandma's chicken noodles, she made it the same except she didn't put the yellow food coloring in and they just weren't as good, even though again they tasted the same.
