I have attended the local PCA region Christmas parties since 1978. We did a gift exchange for years and swapped gifts and did the dirty Santa bit. It was getting tiring. For the last few years we have encouraged everyone to bring a gift for Toys for Tots. I always hated buying toys. I have no kids and my toys are nothing a child would really want. Last year we changed the charity. The Children's Center is a hospital and rehab center only for children.

They have a list on Amazon of needed toys and a wish list. Shopping made easy for geezers. I can get them something that the employees there recommend and need for their patients.
We took a tour of the place last year. It is sad that the place has to exist but for kids with tragic injuries and life long disabilities it is place to recover and learn. I am so much happier to give them something than a Porsche Club member that can easily buy their own junk. I always overspend but that is what Christmas is about. It is hard to not keep adding one more thing to the order.
