Thanks to everybody for the responses. My original plan was to get a 2003-2004 Boxster. A family friend has a 09 Cayman S, and she had a $5000 repair bill last year, and a $1500 last month, both engine problems. This scared my wife, and she said maybe we should just save up for a new Boxster/Cayman, and not have those problems. The CPO gives us that same peace of mind for the 3 years of the warranty, but then we don't have as much choice in color and options, while getting a new car we could get any color we wanted (much bigger deal to my wife than me)
So, get a CPO and save, or get a new car and pick the color and options, but take the big initial depreciation hit?
