'Looks like this thread has perhaps run its course, so I'll post one of my favorite guitarist and my favorite tune of his.
Sandy Bull (February 25, 1941 – April 11, 2001) -- a very accomplished musician you have very likely never heard of.
Blending Eastern, gospel, folk, and blues styles.
This tune, "Gospel Tune," an original done very well in the Pop Staples, tremolo-laden style.
Not heavy blues, so much but totally solo fingering, complete with heavy vibrato from his Fender Stratocaster & foot cymbal.
You'll recognize "I got a woman" in there.
.
Hang in there and Enjoy!
.
BTW, he played two guitars on Chuck Berry's " Memphis, Tennessee."
.
Correction: That is, his own version of Memphis, Tennessee.
