I am on my first tank of techron treatment now after discovering my motor had been running excessively rich for some time and producing large amounts of carbon in the usual places. I was not planning on an oil change and had not heard of that suggestion until this thread. Is there any empirical data at all that backs up this contention ? Has it been a suggestion from any manufacturer of similar products ?
