I have been curious about this also and don't know where to start...
Our surname goes back to England... google says there is a shipyard and there was a kit car with our name on them... ironically there is also a non-alcoholic beer with our name on it (not made in England).
A couple relatives started searches and I'm trying to pick up those pieces... I never much cared about my ancestry... but recently my dad passed at 90 and my mom is looking weak... been going through a lot of old documents and that got me thinking.
