Gotcha.
I had wonderful success on ancestry.com. it dispelled some myths and confirmed others.
Something I will treasure is a recording I made of my grandma before she passed of her telling a lot of the stories she used to tell over and over again. A lot of what she had to say about growing up where and when she did would otherwise be gone forever, but now it lives on.
scottmandue, I recommend you do the same if possible.
