Bugs, I know you we're thinking about my issue.
And I am very excited to report that it is fixed. It pays to have very smart friends because for a 12-pack of Bud Light and $23, my buddy rebuilt my CDI box. The capacitor and a couple other little things that make me nervous to look at were faulty. Looked like brain surgery to me, seemed to be no sweat to him.
Plugged it back in, car fired up after sitting 2 months like I drove it the day before. It was 60 and sunny in CT yesterday so I took it for a proper 35-minute trashing.
