Denis, supposedly, it was $8k for the car, $50k for the bodywork and $50k for the engine/mechanicals. Of course, there's a zero possibility of recouping that amount. But this had to be a situation where recouping the money wasn't a consideration. It was simply building the car the owner wanted and sending the bill on a time & materials basis.
How did it get to $100k?? It's the detail work. An example was the oil catch can for the breather hose. Don't have a photo but it was all hand fabricated including some ingenious brackets. I figured it probably took a guy (or guys) at the shop a couple of days just to design, fabricate, and install that piece - cha-ching!!! -- Curt
