Back in the 70's with Mech Fuel Inj allot of gurus said to use Marvel Mystery Oil in both gas and oil.
The quantity of Techron in Chevron's gasoline is quite a bit less then if you add Techron as a fuel treatment. If you have been using Chevron consistently you won't have had a opportunity to build up any deposits. Doing a 'mega treatment' by adding a bottle of Techron serves no purpose. If you have a car that someone has been running the cheapest gas they can find then you might very much need to treat the fuel system.

As far as changing the oil...
If you have a badly varnished engine (perhaps it was left sitting for a couple years) when you do a serious fuel treatment the deposits that get knocked loose are going to go somewhere. Almost all of it will go out the exhaust but some of it will go past the rings with the combustion gasses. If an engine is in that kind of shape you should think of giving the oil a Seafoam treatment anyway. Then of course you will need to change the oil anyway.
To add to that, if an engine has set around to "gunk up" the rings are going to be sticky and have extra blow-by for a while. (Remember that engines ALWAYS have some blow-by. If they don't have blow-by the rings won't correctly seal and you will blow oil like a fogger.)
