Years ago I started a second checking account at our credit union, North Island which is in San Diego. The only use was to auto pay bills since I found that even 10 years ago most places such as Dish network, Giganews, dental insurance, car insurance, etc all gave a discount if you did an auto pay. At the time Dish was 10% as was our car insurance! So I leave enough $$$$$ in it to cover about 2 months worth of bills and also use it for paying when buying something on line! No service fees either!
