I have two Carrera's and 87 targa and an 81 coupe like the one you are looking at. My 81 is moss green and a 3.0. I found it in a field and pulled out of the field and took it home. Now I'm an amateur for sure but I have a close friend who is a Porsche mechanic. With the 3.0 engine if the crank will turn chances are it will fire up. The gas should be drained and see if the pump works. If all that works change the oil and chances are it will start. I have mine about 90% completed and I paid $7K cdn. I know it was a steal but if it's not running ? The worst the guy could say is no? You can always come up but you can't go down? Good luck they're a great car and a rising commodity in the market
