If you're asking "what is the additive in oil A that allows for less consumption than oil B?", I have no idea. I'm not a chemical engineer, and additive packages are a complex combination of substances\chemicals designed to do everything from increasing viscosity to reducing scuffing. Perhaps a petro-chemical engineer will jump in with definitive answer, but I don't think so, without a great deal more information.
