yes, it is quicker then a 993GT3 but only over a very limited range, on a track I think that the wide torque band that GT3 has will be the deciding factor

Here's a comparison of the acceleration available after considering the torque, transmission, tires, weight(w/ 200# driver) and aero of each
The G series 911 w/ Rs front and no tail is in blue, a gen 2 997 GT3 is in umber, the most obvious thing is the narrow rev range that is usable w/ the smaller engine, the GT3 torque curve is unusually high and flat because of the variable cam timing/lift and variable intake geometry
