Scott, that's better than nothing, but I really doubt that would keep it in place during an earthquake. Those clamps are for light duty. If you want to stay with clamps, I'd recommend metal C-clamps.
The stuff Sid mentioned would be much more secure.
Maybe screw some eye-bolts into a stud, then attach a couple decent wires to the back of the tv with metal hardware?
