This year's SEMA Show was as strong as ever with plenty of new products on display as well as exciting project cars. We took a few minutes and stopped by CSF Radiators as they featured the gorgeous BBI/CSF/Liberty Walk Porsche 997 Turbo front-and-center within their booth for all to take a closer look.
Among a long list of modifications, this Turbo features CSF's 3-piece all-aluminum 997 Turbo high performance radiator package (left, right & center radiators) for maximum cooling at the track or when carving your favorite canyon roads. Featuring a drop-in fit and retention of the OE quick disconnect fittings, the CSF units provide a 40% increase in cooling capacity and 15% to 25% cooling efficiency over the stock 997 units.
This Turbo has such an aggressive look and the following additional modifications should make it a track day monster:
- Porsche 9A1 3.8L twin turbo with BBI B7 Tuning Package producing 688whp at 21lbs of boost on 91 octane
- BBI stage 3 clutch & Aasco lightweight flywheel
- BBI Stage III suspension package featuring Ohlins dampers
- 18x13-inch rear & 10x10.5-inch front BBS E88s with 335/30R/18 rear & 265/35R/18 front Toyo R888s
While visiting with CSF, we also learned more about their most popular Porsche fitments that started it all - the 996 & 986 units, which solved the all-too-common problem of the OE radiators cracking and leaking coolant due to the plastic mounting tabs and excessive vibration. CSF addresses this issue with an all-aluminum end tank along with CNC machined brackets, fittings and mounting pins.
