I was lucky to get out of the Rockies on unfamiliar winding roads! I knew the storm was up in Denver, so I took the Southern route to Alamosa & then hopefully toward I-70. As I came out of the hills, I saw this huge dark purple sky with billowing white clouds of snow off my left shoulder about 5 miles away and closing in. I pushed the 911 as best I could and then the door slammed shut with wind & snow and the sky went black. I made it to La Junta in the snow and hunkered down for the night. This '88 Carrera became my buddy real fast that 1st day.
