Well I always thought that the title of the forum was a typo and should have said 924/944/968... after all, there is a 928-only forum.

I kinda understand why 944 owners are in abundance here and there is nary a 928 to be seen... the 928 was more of a status-symbol car than a TRUE enthusiasts' sports car like the 944. The 928 is a luxury grand-tourer that just happens to be fast as hell, whereas the 944 is more of a lightweight sports car in the classic sense - a blast to drive even though it may not be roomy or comfortable.

Every Porsche had its competition in the market - e.g. the Carrera is up against the Corvette and NSX, the 911 Turbo is up against the Ferrari 360 and Viper GTS, etc - but the 928's competition was always against sporty luxury coupes like the Jaguar XJ and the Mercedes S and SLs. The 928 might be an awesome car, but it is understandable why the owners (probably mostly older Porsche owners) aren't as ferverent about their cars as we 944 owners or the 911 owners.
