It's a 3.6. My car started to do the same thing after driving. It also was a 2002 C4. I did everything, leak down, Compression test, plugs coils, AOS which was a *****. Everything tested 100% Still smoking on start ups and it started to burn about 1 lt every 300 miles. I traded it in. My guess was the valve guides. The engine had less than 20k on a 3.8 rebuild.
