Absolutely.... Anyone who grew up in the 50's and 60's and had any awareness of what life was really like for any "minority" ( read any non WASP) would definitely have a different opinion.
As to feminism being a problem? From the time our now 45 YO daughter was old enough to understand we taught her that to depend on a man for her financial security was to invite poverty and worse. We have taught our granddaughters the same... be prepared to take care of your self. How many millions of stay-at-home women have been left in the lurch and in poverty trying to raise kids when the man decided to move on for whatever reason...

As to the 50's and 60's of Ozzie and Harriet and the Beaver, And Andy Griffith? That world exist didn't exist for millions of Americans.
