I like Clara's character better. Amy was brilliant for the first 3/4 of her time on the show and was great with her sword. Her personality changed a lot during her run. Poor Martha didn't get to have much of a run with the Doctor and Donna doesn't remember a thing of her long run. I think she may be based on Azzy with her humor and zeal.
Jenny would have been great had she been able to hang with the Doctor a season or two.
I haven't seen Peter as the Doctor yet. As good as David?
I used to watch the show years ago when it was Tom Baker and Peter Davison (David Tennants father in law, funny) and so on.
Max, it was usually more than one companion at a time. There are exceptions, Rose, Perry, Clara.
