The town of Sainte Marie Du Mont was one of the first (the first?) towns liberated in the D-Day invasion. The main feature of the small town is the church. I can only imagine - thankful to have survived and uncertain about what lay ahead.
For any that haven't done a Normandy tour, I highly recommend it. It is incredibly moving, humbling and being on the ground gives a much better sense of what was involved than books or movies can do.
