our newfoundland/pyrenees dog will bark at butterflies. just saying. and if the neighbors are in their backyards, she can be downright obnoxious. a shock collar usually gets her attention. i only have to put it on her and she mellows right out. she is only a year old, so i am hoping she'll chill out. our newfoundland purebred female did the same thing until she was about 1.5 years and then she just chilled out.
