One of my "mentors" just retired this year. In a previous life, he had been an auto tech (I wanna say GM stuff, back in the 60s/70s). He was always telling stories about how crappy it had gotten--the exact same grips Asphaltgambler was just mentioning--and that's why he joined the Air Force.
