I agree with tabs that our monetary system is living on borrowed time. Some day, it will collapse. Could be soon, could be quite a while from now, but a collapse is inevitable.
Until that time, I'll play by the rules we have. If I can buy a house, toss a few bucks and a few hours of my labor at it, and sell it for a profit in a short time span, so be it.
Someday, when the collapse comes, it won't matter if I've invested in stocks, real estate or even precious metals. It will be ugly. Very ugly.
