I have a GE gas cooktop with a glass surface and continue to use the same stuff (Cerama-bryte) that they recommend (sample was enclosed). It is very nonabrasive. If something/residue is cooked on hard, then I follow the instructions and gently scrape it off with a razorblade and follow with the cleaner. Keeps it looking like new. It is pretty inexpensive as you don't use very much.
