So glad it wasn't worse.
I came close about 14 years ago when I first got the old E. PO had a fellow strip off the MFI and put on carbs. I had the car trucked to my place and was sorting it out. One day I had to move it out of the garage. Getting it to go was a bit of a chore and when I got it parked in the yard, the smell of gas was bad.
I opened the deck lid and was not happy to see gas running from the fuel lines at the front of the engine compartment.
One would almost think actually tightening the clamps on gas line connections would be part of the install procedure but I guess everyone works differently.
It wasn't long after that a fire extinguisher was mounted .
