I agree that you need to keep your word. But remember that it is a two way street. If he shows up, picks it apart and says now he will only pay $10 or $12 that's your out. You tell him to walk. If he comes back and responds to that with,"well ok, I'll do $15." Tell him to get lost.
Then fix some little things and bring it to market higher. No reason for you to be a victim. Buying and selling is a lot about feel. Feel the guy out and see who you think he really is.
Might turn out to be a great person excited for the chance to own a 911 and ready to give your baby a good home. If he's that guy a few thousand won't matter in the long run.
