The biggest problem with blogs is content - authors will write for awhile early on then it slows or dies. What is the reason for having the blog? Typically you are trying to attract and keep eyeballs, so you either need to creating content that is interesting to your audience or have some other draw. And you also have to think about who that audience is. Potential clients? Family? Friends? All have different editorial slants that you need to consider.
