Brake Pad Replacement
I'm weighing options for replacement pads in my '07 Cayman S. It seems like there are a lot of options for the stock system (Big Reds). I want a good performance pad for street, with the possibility of doing a DE day somewhere down the line, but I don't need to get nutty with upgrades. Will I notice much difference between pads? It seems as though the Hawk or Porterfield pads are good, reasonably-priced options -- are these direct "drop-ins" to the stock system?
Also: I realize that most of the stopping power comes from the front of the car; considering this, is it reasonable to get "good" pads for the back (Mintex, for example), and then "very good" pads on the front (e.g., Hawks)? Or should they always match?
Thanks in advance!
